After the epic fire that destroyed Tribe of Mog’s workshop/studio, vaporising almost everything to black dust.
We got on our hands and knees to begin picking through the charcoaled ashen carcass, scavenging for salvage.
From the gloomy burnt-out darkness between the twisted metal remains and laying within cinerary mud, pieces of shimmering light broke through; offering hope.
Broken shapes of Labradorite, the aurora borealis captured in stone that survived temperatures of over 2000 degrees Celsius, when harder gemstones crumbled.
These cleaned-up pieces, still bearing the scars of ordeal, are set into the beautiful red-toned wood of plum hanging on wax cotton cord embellished with copper beads and natural wood toggle.
From the ashes; the Phoenix collection.
